We ended our very first Upward basketball season with one of ours a couple of weekends ago. David and I go way back with Upward basketball. He was the coordinator at our church in Marmaduke, AR, and I actually coached a sweet little girl's team when we first married. It's so hard to believe our not so little fella is now playing Upward!
It's such a quality program, too. I think Carter enjoyed it so much because his daddy was his coach! Thanks, babe, for giving of your time and yourself to coach our little guy. He thinks you hung the moon, you know?
Look at his ups!
Here they are lining up for the prayer and match ups before the game.
Carter throwing the ball in to start the game. Such a tough decision of who to throw the ball to!
Carter getting in some practice shots.
Papa and Gigi even made it to one of his games this season. Look at his sweet smile. I don't know what he's more excited about, his grandparents being in town or the Skittles they bought him after the game, ha!
Another practice shot with Daddy looking on.
Lining up with some of teammates shooting lay-ups before one of their games.
A group shot with Papa and Gigi after the game. The girls had put away at least two bags of Skittles and a bag of popcorn at this point. Can you tell from their giddy faces? So sweet!
Gooooooooo Eagles!!!!!
Carter, we are so proud of you for completing your first Upward season. It was so fun for the girls and me to watch you play and see Daddy be your coach. What a special first year of basketball! Mommy and Daddy both love sports, and while we never intend to push our love of sports on you, we do hope that playing will instill in your little life the meaning of teamwork and how important it is to learn that trait in life. We love you, buddy!
