So, after our wonderful week at Disney, our party of six, moved to Arkansas. Literally straight from Disney World to Arkansas, what a wild ride! We packed our house in Mississippi, loaded it on a pod, packed our car for our trip, and hit the road. It was crazy, but the absolute perfect transition from Mississippi to Arkansas. We left Orlando after our breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, and headed north to Little Rock. It was such a long drive!
We drove in rain most of the day and were super excited to finally see this pretty sign! We spent Sunday night at David's parent's house because our house wasn't ready yet. In fact, we spent our whole first week with them! Way fun!
Monday morning, we took the children for a quick breakfast, and then we went to their new school for entrance testing and a tour.
They all did very well, and are officially students at Arkansas Baptist, their daddy's alma mater! So cool!
The night before their first day, we set out all that they would need.
And here they are all ready for their very first day at a new school!
And because first days at new places are deserving of sweet treats, we took them for yogurt after school.
While the children were busy getting acclimated to their new school, David and I began the fun task of getting us all settled into our new home. This picture was painted for me by my dear friend, Sherry. My grandmother says this to me in about every conversation we have on the phone. And she's right, it'll all work out. Not right away, and not always how we envision, but it does work out in the end. It's one of my very favorite things in our new house.
Here's a picture of our home. We are renting it for now from a church member. Sometime before next May when our lease ends, we will make a decision about whether or not to buy. For now, we are so thankful for our home and are just loving it!
The backyard. Hundley has lots of play room. On our list to get is a new trampoline for the children. Our old one didn't make the moving pod.
Another sweet friend from MS gave us a gift card to Pier One for a moving away present, and I found this beautiful wind chime for our home. It makes me think of Jessica each time I hear it!
One of our favorite things about our new home is that we live in a cul-de-sac. For Valentine's Day, David and I surprised the children with new bicycles, and they have loved riding their bikes all around our home. Carter, Summer, and Tilly have all mastered riding without training wheels. I think it's just a matter of time before Story joins them!
My sweet friend Crystal mailed this card to me. I love these words so much. I keep it in my Bible to serve as a sweet reminder of a dear friend and an even sweeter reminder of His faithfulness.
Even our car tag is now official! David surprised me with a personalized license plate. You can't get University of Georgia car tags in Mississippi or Arkansas (go figure!), so we got the next best thing!

Not only have we begun a new school and home, but also a new church! David is the new senior pastor at Second Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas. And our new church family has welcomed all of us in the sweetest ways. Kidville is the children's area where the big 3 spend their time at church.
And Story spends her time at the Park, which is our preschool area. While all things new can be overwhelming, we are so thankful for this new season the Lord has given to our family. Thank you to those of you who have prayed, especially for the children, as their transition has been almost seamless. Story had a little trouble adjusting the first few weeks, but we are thankful she seems to have turned a corner. Carter and Summer made all As on their report cards for this nine weeks, and Tilly and Story earned all pluses on theirs. We are very thankful to our new church family for welcoming us with such open arms. We are so excited for all that the Lord has in store for us here!
