July 4th weekend began early for our family. On Friday morning, David's parents came to pick up the children so they could spend the night with their cousins who were coming into town from NWA.
That morning, Papa and Gigi surprised the children by taking them to the dinosaur exhibit at the Clinton library in Little Rock. It was awesome! The same person who created the dinosaurs from Jurassic World made these dinosaurs, too. I'm sad we missed out! Friday night, David and I got to go on a date with some other couples from our church. It was such a treat! And. Saturday morning, we slept til 8! Wahoo! It's the little things, right?
After lunch, we headed over to Papa and Gigi's house, where their neighborhood was having a 4th of July party! So fun!
There was face painting and hair chalk.
The children got to paint birdhouses and fans. We can check that off our summer bucket list, and I didn't have to clean it up!
Story and Lucy were pretty inseparable.
See what I mean!
The party was supposed to end at 3, but that's when it really got going for us, ha! The children took turns in the dunking booth.
In their clothes!
You might be a redneck . . .
It was the most fun! After supper, we headed out to shoot some fireworks.
The children were so excited. It all makes me a little nervous!
Smoke bombs were a big hit!
They came in all colors.
And there were plenty to go around!
This little bit has no fear. Either that or she's so competitive she doesn't want the big ones to outdo her, ha!
Carter was so excited about the flaming sword!
Uncle Cory lighting the glow worms.
He had quite the audience!
We got home way past our bedtime, but it was such a fun day with family and friends! And. . . they slept past 8:00 on Sunday morning! We may have to send them to Papa and Gigi's for the weekend more often ;)
