So we started school last week at our house. The big three began on Wednesday, and Story started on Thursday. They are all at Arkansas Baptist this year, same building and everything. So thankful for that!
The night before school began, we read this book together. Have you ever read it? It's the sweetest! Wednesday morning our crew was up early and so excited for a new school year!
Carter is in third grade this year! It doesn't seem possible that one of mine is in the grade I taught for so many years. Love it!
Summer is in second grade!
And Tilly is in first grade!
Our school created its own hashtag for the first day, so it was so fun to look at all of the other first day pictures. #ABFirstDay15
And I got to spend the day with this sweet girl, just the two of us before she headed off to Kindergarten. We spent the day at the pool with some of our favorite friends.
And then, we went to pick up the big three from their school. Starting Kindergarten is hard work apparently!
Thursday was Story's first day, and she was really excited that morning.
We took another picture of all of the children with our chalkboard for Story's first day.
And since everyone was such a good sport, we took a silly picture, too! So we are back at it. Last night, we had open house where the teachers went over the year with the parents. I think all of our children are going to have a great year! Story struggled the very first day, and after that she has been fine.
Summer has had a hard time being separated from her favorite friend, Sarah, this year, but she is going to be ok. I think our motto for the year is "be brave!" We talk about that a lot at our house. I want to be brave in my parenting. I want them to be brave at school and with their friends. I want David to be brave as he shares God's word each week.
AB had a back to school bash last Friday, and it was so refreshing to see all of our children running around and playing with their friends. I didn't take a single picture, but thankfully some other sweet mommas did!
Tilly with her favorite friend, Adalyn. They were together last year and are in the same class this year, too. We are so thankful for that!
Sunday morning, we had a special time of prayer for the new school year. I loved seeing all of these sweet children standing up at the front of the church. There are also many teachers and administrators, and we prayed over them, too! Such a special time! Here's to hoping this year is one of the very best yet!
