So, our family spent last week at Grayton Beach. It was the. most. fun. Seriously, just wonderful. I did not want to leave to come home. My SIL, Cari, is doing a beautiful job of recapping our week at the beach. So, rather than blog about each day, I thought I would talk about different events or places or things we experienced. Now, those of you who follow me on facebook or even twitter, you have already heard about Josh. Sunday night after a special dessert (that will be another post) we went to Alvin's Island. What is a trip to the beach without a stop at this landmark? Little did we know that Gigi had something special in mind (as she did for most events of the week) for this particular trip. Papa and Gigi bought Carter a hermit crab! How much fun is that? He was so excited. We spent the car ride home coming up with a name. Actually, there was no "we" involved in naming the newly bought hermit crab. Carter came up with the name, "Josh," all on his own. He was so cute as he stated the name so matter of factly. After he told us the name, he said, "Is that a sweet name, Mommy?" I think I say that word alot, huh? So precious. Without any further ado, here is Josh, who only came out at night, the only time the beach house was quiet.
One last piece of important information regarding Josh. The plan all along was to set him free on our last night of the beach. However, David, being the softie that he is just couldn't do it, so the new plan was for Josh to come home with us. However, the next morning David quickly changed his mind when he got a whiff of Josh and realized we would be smelling him all the way home, so we pulled off on the side of the road beside the ocean and let Josh go free. Carter cried, and we were all a little sad. There's no doubt that Josh will not be soon forgotten.
