So, this past weekend was busy, busy. We had our VBS at church, and we welcomed some very special guests into our home. Papa and Gigi! Months ago, David and I entered the lottery (don't freak out, yet) and began training for the Peachtree Road Race held in Atlanta, Georgia, every July 4th. Our plan was to leave Monday morning and head to Atlanta for a couple of days by ourselves, run the race, and come home. Papa and Gigi planned their most recent visit to MS in accordance with our plans to run. To make a long story short, David and I decided it was best not to go to Atlanta for the Peachtree after all. I tell you what, I got the best night's sleep in a while once we made that decision! And, I ran my 6.2 miles Monday morning. At the gym. In the AC, ha! Not quite the same, I'm sure. There will be another time for us to be away, another time for another race. Like maybe when the children are away at college, and then I will be worried about other things! At any rate, we are thankful Papa and Gigi were able to come and spend some time with our family. The children get so stinking excited about their visits; it's pretty precious. Kind of makes me excited to be a grandmother one day! Saturday, Papa and Gigi attended David's Bible study through the book of Galatians while the children and I went to VBS. That night, we all went to our favorite catfish restaurant by the old watermill. I believe we've gone every time they've visited, per Papa's request! Sunday was church, followed by a fun time of fellowship with our church family. What a great weekend. Don't worry, the fun didn't stop there. Monday, (while I was making up for missing the Peachtree in the air conditioned gym) Papa and Gigi took our four to Chuck E. Cheese, or Chunky Cheese as Papa calls it, ha! Tuesday, we all spent the morning at the Hattiesburg Zoo. Once again the children had the best time splashing in the fountains. Don't worry, there are lots of pictures. Most of them don't really need captions, either!
Love these four UP!
If you'll notice in all the pictures below, Carter has this same huge grin on his face. Love it!
I will say that Story was a different little girlie this time at the splash pad. Contrary to what the pictures show, she got right in the middle of the fountains and had the best time!
Snack time! One of their favorite parts.
Look who came to join us for a while during lunch!
Chips and cheese dip. Oh, so good! Like close your eyes, good, apparently!
Sweet sisters playing in the water. Story adores Summer. Probably because her big sister spoils her. Rotten!
The big 3.
David and I say often, pity the girl (and boy) who comes between Carter and Summer. Whew! Those two are thick as thieves.
One more picture of our fabulous four. It's so hard to catch everyone looking, ha!
Papa and Gigi left yesterday morning to head back to Arkansas. I had four little people who were quite sad to see them go. That afternoon we celebrated the 4th with sweet friends, playing in the pool, eating burgers, and shooting fireworks!
