An exciting thing about first grade at PCS is that each child has a chance in the year to be the fantastic reader for their class. This is a huge deal to the children, and they anxiously await their turn all year!
For Carter, it was an all year wait, too, ha! He was one of the last few in his class to read. Carter picked out his book early in the year and spent the year planning his turn. He wanted to read Go, Dogs, Go!
The children are encouraged to have a visual aid for their project, and they are welcome to bring a treat for the class. For Carter's project, we thought it would be fun to have cupcakes in the colors of a traffic light! He insisted that they all be chocolate, ha!
Carter read the entire book for his class.
He was so excited to read, and David and I were so very proud of him!
He did a wonderful job, and he earned all of the possible points for his project!
At the end of his turn, Carter got to draw the name for the next Fantastic reader, which is definitely part of the fun!
Carter with his teacher, Mrs. Crum. We are so thankful for the wonderful year Carter had in Mrs. Crum's class this year!
Carter and Daddy!
Mommy and Carter! We are so proud of the Fantastic Reader that you are, buddy!
