#odellsummerfun2015, part 2!

Our summer fun in well under way.  Once we returned from our big travels, we had VBS, and there's a whole post coming on that one!
Tilly got some sweet mail from her teacher in MS, Mrs. Pittman.  It was her end of the year gift, and the note said: You're all ready for first grade! No more monkeying around! So sweet!
June 21 is National flip flop day, so we hit up Tropical Smoothie in our flip flops (sort of) for a free smoothie!
We also hit up the new movie, Inside Out, last weekend for a fun and cool treat.  It has been so hot here already! We loved the movie! I could totally relate having just made a big move ourselves, but the children did not even seem to make that connection, and I think I'm thankful for that!
Sunday, we celebrated our two favorite big fellas for Father's Day, Papa and Daddy!
Daddy picked lunch at Five Guys, so we enjoyed having lunch with Papa and Gigi for Father's Day.  It's such an honor to celebrate these two special men! We love them so much!

Happy Daddy's Day, David!

Happy Daddy's Day!
Thank you for being the best daddy ever to our four little loves.  The five of us could not love you more if we tried.
Thank you for planning and taking us on super fun outings and vacations.  Thank you for working so very hard to provide for our family.
Thank you for being such a wonderfully high standard for our daughters.  Their future husbands have some pretty big shoes to fill.
Thank you for killing all the roaches in our home.  Thank you for making us laugh, deep belly laughs.
Thank you for shepherding our family and being a great example of a godly man.  Godly husband.  Godly daddy.  Thank you for praying with our children each night before they go to bed.
Thank you for taking us all on dates and for making each of us feel so very special.  Thank you for helping with baths and dishes and laundry and housework and yard work and so much more!
Thank you for taking our children to school each morning.  Thank you for making a great effort to be at all special events.
In all my life, never did I ever dream that I would be allowed to be on this journey with such a great man, who would forever redeem this day for me.  Thank you for being the best daddy I know.
Happy Daddy's Day!

Father's Day, 2012.

I am not sure why I posted about our trip to NOLA before my post on David's special day. I think because the only pictures I had from NOLA were on my phone anyway. At any rate, we loved celebrating David before we left for #SBC12. Our Father's Day celebration lasted for the whole weekend. Before we had four, on Mother's Day weekend we took Carter and Summer to Zoo Atlanta. This year, we decided to rekindle our zoo traditions on Father's Day weekend. Saturday morning after doughnuts with Daddy, we headed a whopping two whole blocks over to the Hattiesburg Zoo. The children were so excited. I have many more pictures on the computer, but our Internet is still acting funny. I sure will be glad not to have to blog from my phone anymore ;)

This sign cracked me up! You don't have to worry about this girl tossing anything to the alligators!

Story had never been to the zoo before, so it was really sweet to see the zoo through her eyes for the first time! She loved seeing all the animals.

The tiger was actually out walking around while we were there. When Carter and I went to the zoo back in the fall with his class, we could barely see her. She's massive to me, but according to one of our church friends who works at the zoo, she's actually pretty small!

After seeing all the animals, we went to our favorite part of the zoo, the splash pad! The children had so much fun running through the fountains! David and I loved watching them play and shriek with delight! After playing and eating treats, we headed back home for naps.
On Sunday, David's big day, we enjoyed doughnuts together at church. After church, we went to one of our favorite eats in Hattiesburg, Newks. For Father's Day, we gave David a membership to the dollar shave club, a new watch, and some handmade keepsakes from the children. I tweeted at some point during the day: happy Father's Day, @davemo44! The Lord has used you to redeem this day and make it so sweet. I love watching you be Daddy to our four loves. David loves me and our children completely and selflessly. It was an honor and privilege to celebrate him on this special day. Happy Father's Day, babe. We love you to the moon and back a whole bunch of times!

Happy Father's Day, 2011.

Happy Father's Day, David! Thank you for giving me such a wonderful reason to celebrate this special day. I love the daddy that you are to our children. Thank you for laughing with them, praying with them, reading to them, disciplining them, pointing them to Jesus, teaching them, and most of all for loving them. You make our home so much more fun and loving! We hope your Father's Day is special because you are definitely the best daddy there is.
We have another important Daddy in our life, Papa. Thank you for being such a wonderful example of a godly father to David. Thank you for all the love that you show to our family. We hope your day is extra special as well. Thank you for our wonderful trip to the beach last week; it was the most fun!
Happy Father's Day!
