The 24 hour date.

That's right, a 24 hour date! We could hardly believe it ourselves. Friday after school, my love picked me up and thus began our 24 hour date. We started it with lunch at this place, and made our way here for the night. One word, amazing! It was the nicest, fanciest hotel I have ever been to. We were like two kids getting to stay up all night for the first time ever, bouncing off the walls. That's ironic though because we literally slept for 13 hours of our 24 hour date. #parentsofmanysmallchildren
After checking in and getting settled, would you believe that we went to the fitness center of the hotel? Yes, we did! We raced to two miles, and headed back to our rooms. I won't tell you who won. I did. After showers in our swanky bathroom, we headed out for a dinner date at this place, thanks to a gift card from a sweet school family. What a fun fun night with this man I love so much. What a sweet sweet gesture of Papa and Gigi to watch our children the entire night, so we could be away. It was so wonderful, so refreshing, so needed. About halfway through supper, David leaned over and whispered, "I miss our kids!" I exhaled a relieved sigh, "Me too!" I had been afraid to mention it earlier for fear of hurting his feelings, but we missed them a bunch! Our little people are so much fun to be around that I genuinely miss them when away. We were asleep by 8:30, sad I know, and didn't wake until 9:30 the next morning! What a gift to get so many uninterrupted hours of sleep. I don't sleep that many hours in two nights during the week, ha! I'll leave you with some pictures of our swanky hotel room. We tried to capture a self-portrait before our dinner date, we failed, so it's just the room.

Thank you, Papa and Gigi, for a wonderful 24 hour date! It was amazing!
