Strong in battle.

We had absolutely no problem coming up with a name for our Tilly girl. In fact, you can read all about that here. One special thing about Tilly's name is not only its origination, but also its meaning. Strong in battle. Yup, it's no wonder once you get to know her either, ha! Now, our thought was wow, strong in battle, she is going to be strong and tough. And she definitely is. This was especially comforting to us when we found out Tilly had a problem in utero and later had to have surgery to remove one of her ovaries. However, we were not prepared for the strong-willed part of our precious girl. Boy, is she ever! Tilly is so very different from Carter and Summer, and we love her for it. She is spunky and feisty and gutsy and fearless and sweet and sassy and just Tilly. We wouldn't change a thing.
It should not have been a surprise to us when Tilly did something this week that Carter nor Summer ever dared to do when they were two. On Tuesday morning right after we arrived to school, Tilly stuck a tic tac up her nose. Yes, I am serious. Yes, I'm the one who gave it to her. And yes, I may have panicked a little.
So this little one and I quickly headed out to the doctor. Honestly, I wasn't sure what to do. Remember none of the others have ever done anything like this! So, I headed in the direction of our children's hospital, which is close to our pediatrician's office as well. I rang up the nurse on call, and she told me that the tic tac should dissolve, but I could go to my pediatrician's office if it would make me feel better. Yes, please. Tilly and I ended up seeing Dr. S. and by the time we got there, her nose was running white! Hello, tic tac, thank you for coming out!
Thankfully, the tic tac is gone, and my strong one is fine. Hopefully, this will be our last experience with objects in the nose. I know it will be the last time she puts a tic tac in her nose because this momma is not giving her any more! Thank you, Tilly, for keeping me on my toes, for making me laugh uncontrollably, for keeping me humble as a mommy, and for making my life a whole lot sweeter and filled with more love than I could have ever imagined. I love you, my Tilly girl!
