Grandparent's Day 2009

Every fall our school celebrates Grandparent's Day. As you know I teach at the school where my children attend preschool, and going to and doing events as a Mommy makes me have a whole new appreciation for the events as a teacher. For the teacher, Grandparent's Day is one of the busiest and most stressful days of the entire school year, but the grandparents LOVE it. For many of them, it is the highlight of the school year. Last year, Papa and Gigi were with us for Thanksgiving and were able to attend this special event with Carter, who was in the Builder's class at the time. This year, we are spending Christmas in Arkansas, so Papa and Gigi didn't come for Thanksgiving. On hand, this year was T, my mom! It was her first Grandparent's Day, but she has faithfully attended many other Heiskell events with me. T was Carter's date for Grandparent's Day, and boy did he love having her in his class! According to T, Carter insisted that she sit on the floor with him, how sweet! Now that we have two children at the Heiskell School, we needed to find stand-in grandparents for our little Summer. FrankandShirley (we say their names together like this) were our first choice! We love this precious couple who have come to be just like family to us over the past two years we have been at FBC Austell. Summer was thrilled to introduce Mr. Frank and Mrs. Shirley to her friends and teacher on Grandparent's Day. Thank you T and FrankandShirley for being such wonderful grandparents to our children. It means the world to us that you spent this special day with Carter and Summer. We love you! Enjoy the pictures. The cutest kids in the room would be ours!
