Good Friday

Yesterday, on the way to school we were talking about Easter and how very special this season is to those of us who believe. Carter and Summer said the sweetest thing that just brought tears to my eyes, not that it takes much to bring on the tears these days, ha! Carter said, "Mommy, Jesus died on the cross for our sins. And he got a crown of thorns on His head, and I bet He needed a band aid. But, Mommy, on Easter Sunday He rose from the dead!" Summer chimed in with her sweet, loud voice exclaiming, "YEA, HE'S ALIVE!" I am so thankful my children know this truth. Do you?
Today we are out of school in honor of Good Friday, and it has been wonderful to have everyone at home together. These moments are few and far between and all the more special as we anticipate the birth of the newest member of our family. We have less than 6 weeks until we meet baby Story, and we could not be more excited. In honor of our family day, we loaded up in the mommy car and went to Lowe's or Moe's as Summer calls it - we love both places - to buy some flowers for our yard. Sadly, I did not think to take the camera on our trip. Carter and Summer were so precious looking at all the "beautiful" flowers. They wanted to take each one home with us. (Side note - I had no idea how expensive some of these things can be - whew!) After making our purchases, we hurried home to dig in the dirt and make our yard pretty. We got very dirty, found some worms for our garden, and planted some pretty flowers all before nap time! We've had a busy day, and it's not even halfway over yet. After nap time, we are dying Easter eggs, so there will be another post before long. There were lots of good pictures, and I could not choose just one, so I made a slide show with all of them! I know the grandparents will appreciate it, as it's been a while since they have seen these cuties!
