Story's first week

The last week has flown by so fast. One week ago today, we welcomed Story into our family. What a blessing she has already been to us. Carter, Summer, and Tilly just absolutely adore her. They want to see her, talk to her, kiss her, and touch her all the time. We have a game that we play together: where is Story napping? Carter, Summer, and Tilly search all over the house (it's not even very big, ha!) trying to find their baby sister. It has become a daily ritual. Most often she is in one of two places: her pack and play or on our bed, but we make a game of it anyway! Today, I took Story for her one week check up with Dr .G. We love going to see him because he is one of our biggest fans as parents and always has the most encouraging things to say to David and me. Story passed her visit with flying colors. Here are some things she is up to at one week of age:
  • Story eats 3 ounces every 3 hours, day and night, but we have been given the go ahead to stretch out the hours at night!
  • At night, we wake her to feed her and she goes right back to sleep, we are so thankful!
  • She is wearing newborn size diapers.
  • She likes to be swaddled as long as her hands are free.
  • She likes the pacifier, but only if she is trying to make it to the next feeding. She doesn't need it to fall asleep.
  • She sleeps in our room in a pack and play.
  • She weighs 8 pounds 2 ounces, 70 %. When we left the hospital, she was down to 7 pounds 6 ounces, so she is gaining weight like a champ!
  • She is 20 1/4 inches long, 75 %.
  • Her head is 14 1/4 inches, 70%.
  • She is wearing newborn size clothes, mostly footed pajamas and mittens these days.
  • She still has her cord. It should fall off in the next day or two.
  • She has her family wrapped around her little fingers; we could just eat her up, she is so sweet!
Carter and Summer with Story just before her big appointment.
Story all bundled up ready to go see Dr. G.
I am so sad I did not get a picture today of this adorable big sister with Story. She has been so sweet this week, very loving to Story.
Taken of Story today during nap time. She loves to have her hands up beside her face.
This little guy loves his baby sister, so much! I think it's mutual!
Story tonight playing on her mat. The children love to bring toys to her, so she can play with them!

So sweet! Cracked me up to see all those toys around her head!! Can't wait to hold her (I might say that 100 times between now and July!) :)
