Our ballerina girl.

This is finally the year. The year where Summer is old enough to take ballet lessons at our school. All last year, we heard about ballet and how she wanted to do ballet. Summer's ballet class is every Wednesday, so the night before her rock star daddy went out to buy all of the proper clothing, though later we wondered if she even needed it. He was so precious, I made him a list of things to get at the store. He sent me a text saying, "Babe, what's a leotard?" Love him! I explained it was kind of like a bathing suit, but not for the water. He did great, and Summer had everything she needed for her first class. Our girl could not be more excited about being a ballerina if she tried. I think after hearing about her first day on the job, you will definitely agree. Let me set the stage for you. Summer is in class with her teacher until after she finishes lunch. As soon as lunch is over, Miss Kacy begins to explain to the ballerinas that they are going to change and go to ballet class with Miss Chris. Before Miss Kacy can give any further instructions, Summer runs into the closet of her classroom, strips down to her socks and tennis shoes, and proceeds to pirouette around the room, exclaiming, "I'm doing ballet!" But noooo, she doesn't stop there. She runs out of the room (yes, she is still in the buff), down the hall, all the while jumping and shouting, "I'm doing ballet!" David and I were rolling when we heard this story after Summer's first day of ballet. She has the most carefree spirit, and I pray she always stays that way, but maybe with her clothes on.
Our sweet ballerina girl.
Can you see the excitement?
Thankfully, she has since learned that ballet can be just as fun in a leotard and tutu.
